DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

***** Please note that a MANDATORY pre-bid conference has been scheduled for 2:00pm, August 17, 2017 in Sibley Hall, Room 261B.*****

1. The Project consists of the alteration of Rand Hall, an existing three-story building, including the reconfiguration of the First Floor industrial shop and ancillary Bspaces, and the reconfiguration of the remaining floors to include a new multi-level library contained therein. Interior work includes, but is not limited to the installation of concrete floor slabs, structural steel columns and framing, spray-applied and intumescent fireproofing, hydraulic elevator with suspended pit and ancillary machine room, interior stairs including fire exit stairs and decorative metal stairs with decorative railings, ramps, walls, partitions, suspended ceilings, door assemblies, fire rated interior entrances and storefront assemblies, glazed aluminum curtain wall assemblies, including insert vents tied into the building’s fire alarm system for smoke evacuation, installed in existing masonry openings, interior finishes, custom suspended metal book stacks including suspended tables attached thereto, sensor controlled motorized shades, custom casework including librarian reception desk and fold-down tables fastened to walls, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems including automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm system, HVAC system including radiant floor heating at the Second Floor, smoke evacuation system. Exterior work includes but is not limited to the restoration of masonry and concrete at the facades, roof assembly including smoke hatches, site work, and utility connections.
 
2. Temporary and repair work to Milstein Hall as required by the Work at Rand Hall.
 
3. Construction phasing to maintain Milstein Hall operational during the Work at Rand Hall, except during designated period of time as defined by Cornell Facilities.

Electronic access to the bid package including addendums will be available at $99.00 per set without refund.  Bidders will be given an electronic “key” for access.  Printed sets are also available for $230 per set without refund.  No partial sets will be issued.
