PROJECT TITLE:
Clara Dickson Roof Repairs - Phase 1 Enabling Project
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Clara Dickson Hall is a large, Colonial-style residence hall located on Cornell’s North Campus. It was constructed in 1946 and houses 460 first-year students. Constructed of stone-faced masonry bearing wall construction, with large brick and stone chimneys and an expansive slate roof and is generally fair condition. A multi-phased, multiple bid project is planned. Phase 1 of this three (3) phased project is to address the site drainage and waterproofing. Considered to be the enabling project for the future phases, the work includes upgrading the below grade drainage system and regrading of parts of the site to improve management of the rainwater collection, and discharge into the drainage system. Also included in the scope is the waterproofing of the cast-in-place basement walls at select locations at the building exterior. Phase 1 is planned to be executed in two distinct phase sequences as indicated in the contract documents, G0.01 Phase Sequencing Plan. Work is planned for the summer of 2023.
